We all have at least one vintage area rug aisle photo saved in Pinterest! I have a few more than that probably ;) Here are a few things to think about before diving in to that design idea... The first thing to think about is how long is the aisle? This will help you determine how many rugs you will need to fill that aisle. Do you want it to the door, or to start at the beginning of your seating? Secondly, consider if you need a definitive ceremony rug, separate of the aisle rugs. This is a nice touch, as it creates a space for you and your partner to say your vows, and it looks so good in your photos!! Number 3 , how wide is your aisle, and number 4, are you being escorted down the aisle with someone special? Keep in mind how wide it should between your rows of seating and how wide it needs to be to accommodate you and your escort down, but also, you and your partner in the recessional! We MUST think about the layout! So, number 5 is to consider your preference for layered + overlapped rugs or a spread out rug aisle! No wrong answer...just your personal choice. Also note how the rugs will lay - we don't want any tripping hazards!!
Number 6 - Colour! Are we mixing things up, are we going one base colour, the choice is yours! This may relate to how many rugs you need/want as well. Collections may vary and availability will vary so keep an open mind when booking your area rug rentals. Last but not least, the terrain is also important. Is your aisle on a paved area, a pathway, a grassy field, OR on an incline/decline?? If at all possible, have a look at the exact spot you want your aisle to go so you know what to expect for the rugs. We hope these 7 tips are useful when planning your wedding aisle! We would love to chat with you about your ideas and plans to create a wedding aisle too, so book a viewing appointment at our inventory studio so you can see all of our awesome vintage area rug rentals. You can pin these to your wedding Pinterest boards for future reference. Thank you ~Heather |
