We get many calls to create beautiful custom wedding moments in our backyard...

This particular request...it was something we had not done before, but we
were up for the challenge!

Our friend Karlie Wimble, of Mountain Shore Weddings + Events brought us on board for a lovely lakeside elopement at Moraine Lake, in Banff National Park.
I had not been to Moraine Lake since I was a teenager visiting Alberta with my family...and
had NO IDEA what the crowds were like during the late summer months. I had seen photos of this serene lake, with waters so clear and the most brilliant of colour...but there were never crowds in the images!!

I will admit, I was concerned about all this foot traffic during what was expected to be an intimate event for just a few family members and the couple. However, we bobbed and weaved through the crowds to create the space the couple was dreaming of. Many people offering to help us along the way. Many people very curious as to why we were carrying a small sofa into the wooded path along the lake. (when I say 'we' were carrying a small sofa, I do mean, MY HUSBAND)
Yes, he carried a small sofa from the parking lot, and a pretty hefty distance in, and out of the woods! I'm sure there is footage on tourists phones somewhere...I never stopped to take a photo myself!

We carried in a large area rug, a small sofa, a full size wood rail trunk, a bar cart, a few wicker peacock chairs, a small faux fur rug, a crate of champagne coupes, and plates + cutlery for the cake. We chose an open space as the couple had requested, with a lake view, and room for their small guest list. We set up, and on our last trek out to the parking lot to wait, we were able to catch a glimpse of Natasha, the Bride, and congratulate them on their beautiful day.
The day was beautiful. The couple were amazing. The tourists were fantastic.
