So we thought we would bring to you a how to guide for setting a fun little one household family table for the holidays!
I'll bet you have lots of these items, or similar style pieces in your own collections...so gather and find, and create a fun table for your family. Texture is great for adding depth and interest to any table design. A faux fur blanket added a warm feel for this outdoor table, but you can add an heirloom table cloth, a crocheted table runner, or have fun with textured napkins. I have always loved getting out the holiday plates for our Christmas dinners. You can also dress up your everyday plates with a plate charger, or add some festive colour with your napkins. I can't help it...I'm a sucker for all things vintage glass...and these dark green thumb print goblets are no exception. If you don't have your own coloured glass, you can still add depth and interest by adding two different size clear glasses to your place settings...I mean, who doesn't love options right! *wink wink Place cards can be fun, and more then just a card...add a vintage ornament, or sprigs of greens tied with cinnamon, a fancy napkin fold, or even a cookie! A whimsical addition is always fun. This vintage deer figurine was so perfect, it ended up in a package to my sister in law in New Brunswick for her Christmas table. We used natural wood tea light holders mixed with the greens to run the length of our table here. You could add brass candle sticks, or try using bud vases as candle holders...so cute! I adore the smell of the fresh pine and cedar, and it looks so festive! You can buy your own boughs at a local garden centre, or talk to your local florist...they will have a great ideas and tips for keeping them fresh longer. I'd love to see how you all decorate your table this holiday season. Tag us with #orangetrunkholidaytable so we can share your beautiful ideas too!
