This week's #tiptuesday is a bit different! We are talking about BIRTHDAY PARTIES!!!
I have four kids...all boys! We've done a lot of parties...all BOY themed parties!! So, we were so happy to help with a very special little girl's party this year!
Our tips for planning are shared with Isla's Mom, Sarah!
1. Make a Plan! The secret to a great party of any kind is a great plan! Our favourite way of planning is using Pinterest to create a vision board for the party theme. This screen shot is from our orange trunk Pinterest page for Birthday Party ideas. We create a separate board for each theme we are currently planning.

2. Pick a THEME! We have had a lot of themes over the years...lots of lego, super heros, star wars...etc. One of our most recent favourites was Ryder's Carnival in the backyard!!! Whatever theme you choose, make it fun. Plan lots of little details. It doesn't have to cost a fortune to throw a really fantastic birthday party for your kids...it really is about the fun and memories you help create with them! My kids still talk about the parties they have had...and I love it!!!
3. Check List! Use your check list...and make sure to check off the items you purchase/order as you do it. Even if balloons are the only item you plan to purchase...put it on your list...we PROMISE you...this will make it easier! When you are planning lots of details, as Sarah has here in a photo from Isla's First Birthday Party, the check list is very important!
4. Photos. Take lots of photos...before your guests arrive, and after!! We have learned that if you wait till the guests arrive, things get moved, knocked over, and disturbed...and the last thing you want, is to be stressed over how the photos will look during the party! which brings us to our very last tip...
5. HAVE FUN!!!! Just like Isla did!!!
Thanks so much for reading our #tiptuesday post! Its lots of fun to share the things we have learned during all of our planning...be it weddings, showers or kids birthdays!!
And special thanks to our contributor, Sarah Nantel and her sweet little girl, Isla, for sharing her tips with us all!
